The items of this series were found while clearing out the study table drawer at my new place. I do not know much about the people who lived here before me. These make me wonder.

Initially this project had started off as a personal attempt to piece together the identity of the previous tenants, out of sheer curiosity. However, upon further introspection I realised that I had subconsciously ended up constructing a portrait of myself through these objects. It dawned on me that the entire exercise was probably, in all its honesty, a craving for a sense of belonging amidst the alienation of moving (for college) to a place vastly different, unfamiliar & sometimes conflicting, to me. Perhaps even a way of comforting myself in knowing that someone similar to me had been through the same, and had probably survived.
